2008 – 2009 (Second-in-Command, Infantry Battalion)

  • Formulated strategic and operational plans for troop mobilization against adversary country.
  • Safeguard against leakage of operational plans through physical or electronic media by designing and implementing security systems.
  • Developed training and employment policy for 850 personnel (soldiers) including specialized cutting edge training for 150 skilled personnel to counter the ever changing security threats, in sync with the global trends.
  • Managed CSD (retail store) with a turnover of over 6 Crores p.a., achieving higher sales with less inventory.

Strategy and Operations

2006-2008 (Staff Office, Directorate General of Military Operations)

  • Reviewed current and futuristic operational/strategic concepts to counter threats from adversaries.
  • Implemented GIS Platform integration with existing data collation and surveillance methods.
  • Collated, analyzed and interpreted operational data & recommended policies related to various National Security related issues.
  • Interacted and liaised with Deputy Secretary, Directors, Joint Directors, OSD (Officers on Special Duty), etc on a periodic basis on strategy, operations and policy related issues.
  • Controlled and allocated prime resources, highly specialized teams and resources of Army etc for sensitive roles like terrorist attacks, Security threats, Disaster Management and Relief Operations.

2004-2006 (Company Commander, Rashtriya Rifles)

  • Raised a counter-terrorist force from scratch (on behalf of CO) including staffing, training & performance evaluating.
  • Formulated strategy & successfully conducted operations, eliminating 8 terrorists, within Human rights guidelines.
  • Planned and executed projects in the villages for provision of infrastructure like schools and construction of mini hydel projects, as part of strategy to bring people to own side and isolate terrorists.counter

2001-2004 (Trainer, Instructor, Army Training Centre)

  • Planned, scheduled and conducted training for 2500 recruits annually in various fields.
  • Redesigning the recruit training curriculum (of 1980) and bring it in tune with the latest trends and requirements, in sync with the changing role of forces world over (on behalf of the Director General).
  • Project management / upgraded the training infrastructure (restructuring existing facilities & develop additional infrastructure).
  • Budgeting and expenditure of various grants for enhancement of training.

  • Commanded independent sector (120 Soldiers) at Siachen, the highest battlefield in the world.
  • Held flag meetings with Chinese to resolve border disputes, and convey India’s stand on border management.
